SUMMIT, NJ - As if summer lurking just around the corner was not sweet enough news for Hilltop City residents, now comes word that Summit Downtown Inc. will begin its 'Sunday Funday Contest' series with a doozy -- a Berry Pie Contest -- on June 23 at the Summit Farmers Market.
Amateur bakers are invited to bring their best berry-centric creation to the Summit Farmers Market by 10:45 a.m. All types of berry pies are allowed: mixed berry, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry custard, etc. Pre-registration is encouraged and available by visiting http://bit.ly/sfmberry. Walk-ins are also welcome.
All pies must be made from scratch -- no canned ingredients or boxed mixes are allowed -- and entrants must bring a copy of their recipe to the contest with them. The winners will receive Summit Farmers Market Fun Money to be spent at the market. Judging will begins at 11 a.m.

September 29 -- Annual Apple Pie Contest
October 27 -- Halloween Event
November 10 -- Pumpkin Bread/Muffin Contest on Sunday, November 10.
The Market is located in the Park & Shop Lot #2, at the corner of DeForest Avenue and Maple Street, and is open every Sunday through November 24 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
