SUMMIT, NJ - The Junior League of Summit (JLS) Thrift Shop has fall fashion all buttoned-up. And zippered, for that matter.
That’s because the Hilltop City's go-to spot for thrifty haute couture will host its annual 'Coat Event' October 17 and 18 at Parish Hall in Calvary Church and at the JLS Thrift Shop. The annual event features deals on some new and a large selection of gently-used adult and children’s winter coats and accessories.
Sale hours are:
October 17 - 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM
October 18 - 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
“Throughout the year, the Junior League of Summit is the recipient of coat donations from the community," says League Member and Thrift Shop Chair Stephanie Giblin. "The revenue generated from our coat event goes back into the community through scholarships and grants,”
According to Thrift Shop Manager Marie Avagliano, “We have upwards of 800 coats for everyone in the family, featuring a wide selection from weather resistant to fashion forward wools and fabric styles. Once again, we are pleased to feature some fur coats and designer shoes and handbags."
The Thrift Shop will remain open for its regular hours throughout the event, continuing to offer customers the opportunity to purchase discounted clothing and shoes for men, women and children and housewares.
Established in 1934, The Junior League of Summit Thrift Shop in Summit serves as the primary fundraiser for the Junior League of Summit and has provided the resources for the League’s many grants, projects, programs, and scholarships over the years. Since its inception, the Shop has raised over $3,000,000 to benefit Summit and surrounding communities.
Parish Hall at Calvary Church is located at 31 Woodland Avenue, while the JLS Thrift Shop is located at 37 Deforest Avenue.
