SUMMIT, NJ - The 'Summit Street Sounds' program, which features outdoor music and entertainment in the downtown business corridor, will return on Thursday and Friday evenings this coming June, and event organizers are looking for hot talent to showcase in a very cool setting.

Summit Downtown, Inc., the nonprofit organization dedicated to the ongoing development and promotion of the business community in downtown -- and which created and managed the 'Street Sounds' program -- is now actively seeking musicians for these and other downtown events.

All performance opportunities are outdoors, so performers must be able to play outside and provide their own sound equipment. Performance opportunities include -- pending event approval by Summit Common Council -- Summit Farmers Market (Sunday mornings), Summit Street Sounds (Thursday / Friday evenings, June), Family Fun Night (children’s event, 4 - 8pm on June 11) and Arts + Cars (festival on September 20) and more.

Interested musicians are directed to contact (email only, no phone calls) kathryn@summitdowntown.org with their:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Brief description of their act / group and what type of music they play
  • Sample (preferably a YouTube link for a live performance)
