SUMMIT, NJ - Reeves-Reed Arboretum will offer three evenings of site-specific dance performance along with a special performance of the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus as part of the 'Sounds of a Summer Night Concert Series' beginning June 26. The Series will be presented by the Summit regional office of Prominent Properties Sotheby's International Realty, which has made a three-year commitment to the Arboretum.
“This significant relationship is an indication of Sotheby’s trust in the Arboretum, as well as our commitment to the community,” said Jacky Elliott, Managing Broker at Sotheby’s Summit.
INKUBATE -- a collaboration between the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble and Reeves-Reed Arboretum -- returns on June 26, July 10 and July 31 for a fifth season of enchanting and exhilarating evenings of dance featuring dance artists and choreographers from the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble. INKUBATE will include works created by dancers from such major companies as the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Jessica Lang Dance, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, among others.
Adding a contemporary twist to the grand traditions of American circus, the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus has traveled the world since 1995 and, on August 7, will delight the Arboretum audience with its unique hybrid of vaudeville, circus, burlesque and sideshow to theatres, clubs, colleges, and festivals.
Series attendees are invited to bring their blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to the Arboretum each Series evening in the garden. Grounds will open at 6 p.m. for concertgoers to picnic and the performances will take place from 7 - 8 p.m. The cost is free to Arboretum members and $15 per person for non-members ($5 for students). The non-member admission donation will be $20 ($5 for students) for the August 7 performance by Bindlestiff Family Cirkus.
