SUMMIT, NJ - One of New Jersey’s oldest continuously running community choirs, Summit Chorale will be holding auditions for its 111th season on Tuesday, September 3, and throughout the remainder of the month. Interested singers can audition on September 3 and, should they be unable to attend that night, are invited to sit in on any rehearsal and audition afterward.
The rehearsals will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Summit.
Summit Chorale is a volunteer chorus, with its membership comprised of recent college graduates, well-qualified amateurs and active professional soloists, ranging in age from their 20’s to 80’s. The chorale’s membership extends far beyond the Summit area with singers coming from many New Jersey communities.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Dr. Thomas Juneau, the choir’s 2019-20 repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus, a fun-filled concert of Disney selections, and much more.
Summit Chorale’s season will culminate in July with a trip to Ireland, its second international trip in three years.
