SUMMIT, NJ - Residents who placed holds for materials prior to the Summit Free Public Library's closing in mid-March can pick-up those materials at the Library beginning June 22. In addition, starting on June 25, patrons may once again place reserves on the Library’s website or lobby pick-up beginning on June 29.
Patrons may also call the library at 908-273-0350, option 3, to place a reserve starting on June 25. The Library anticipates reopening on Monday, July 6.
The following guidelines apply to lobby pick-up:
Patrons will be contacted with an email / text message. In the case where the Library does not have an email or cell phone number, a phone call will be made when a hold is ready.
Patrons must call ahead to the Library, 908-273-0350, option 2, during the hours that staff is in the building to say they are on their way. The staff member will check out the items and place them on a table in the lobby. During the week of June 22, Library staff will be in the building from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., while, the week of June 29 - July 2, staff will be in the building from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., and, starting July 6, regular Library summer hours will commence, including Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., (closed Sundays).
Patrons are asked to park their cars in a regular parking place marked curbside pickup.
Patrons should come up the ramp that runs along the side of building, closest to Maple Street and enter the lobby one person or family at a time while wearing masks, retrieving their items and leaving using the set of doors that lead to the front of the Library building, adjacent to the main Library parking lot.
The Summit Free Public Library is located at 75 Maple Street.
