SUMMIT, NJ - The Concord Singers -- a friendly musical home to both novice and experienced singers that achieves high quality through dedication and hard work -- will present their holiday concert, entitled 'A Light in the Darkness', on December 9, beginning at 4 p.m., at Summit's Calvary Episcopal Church.
Concord Singers will celebrate the season with songs calling to mind humanity’s universal desire to shine a light in darkness. featuring an inspiring mix of traditional, contemporary, and sacred music by composers and arrangers as varied as Gwyneth Walker, Clifton Noble Jr., Erik Whitacre, Shirley Whitecotton, Paul Carey, Victor Johnson, Abbie Betinis, and Daniel Hall.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under at the door.
Under the direction of Anna Lenti and accompanied by Robert Long, Concord Singers are a non-audition women's ensemble whose members represent many age groups, professions and backgrounds -- hail from 23 towns in six counties. New members are welcome, with rehearsals held on Monday evenings from 7:15 - 9:15 p.m., September through May at Calvary Church.
