SUMMIT, NJ - One person has died, and another victim was flown by Medevac helicopter to an area trauma center after a mid-afternoon crash on Eastbound Route 24 near Milemarker 9, according to the City of Summit Fire Department (SFD).
The SFD, at approximately 2 p.m. today, responded to a report of a multiple vehicle accident on Route 24 East near Milemarker 9.
SUMMIT, NJ - The City of Summit Police Department (SPD) has notified residents that Eastbound Route 24 is closed "for the next several hours" due to a major mid-afteroon crash that involved a tractor trailer and multiple vehicles which occurred at Milemarker 9.
The full SPD Nixle message, sent at 3:23 p.m., states:

SUMMIT, NJ - The tense afternoon situation that involved a woman barricading herself inside a Meadowbrook Court residence with a firearm today has been resolved safely.
