SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Fire Department is currently fighting a three-alarm fire in a two-and-a-half story dwelling on Morris Avenue. As a result, Morris Avenue, between Mountain Avenue and Sayre Street, has been closed.

The building is located at 220-221 Morris Avenue* with the fire, according to Breaking News Network reports, located on the second story and attic. The initial notification for the blaze came at 5:44 p.m.

It is not yet known if there were occupants in the dwelling during the time of the incident.

The Summit Police Department is asking residents and motorists to avoid the area.
