SUMMIT, NJ - 'The Five Senses of Judaism', a new free program geared to 2 - 5 year olds and their parents, lets kids experience Judaism through play that engages all the senses. The program is offered free by Congregation Beth Hatikvah (CBH) in Summit to families in the surrounding counties.
The first session, on Saturday, October 26, will introduce children to Shabbat. Moving among various stations, kids will be able to mush together ingredients for challah and make fragrant havdalah spice bags, among other activites. The emphasis is on having fun, socializing with other families, and feeling comfortable and happy in a Jewish space.
Congregation Beth Hatikvah's rabbi, Hannah Orden, will spend time with the families to make a special connection with each child.
The series comprises five sessions over the course of several months. All are free, and participants are welcome to attend one or more. Registration is required.
