SUMMIT, NJ - St. John’s Lutheran Church in Summit will offer its annual 'Advent Lessons & Carols' service December 2, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. All are welcome to attend and professional child-care is available.

The Adult Choir, Drum Ensemble, Kirsten Russler - violin, and Pattie Gould - cello will offer music along with guest musicians Evelyn Estava - violin and Michael Avagliano - viola. Works include J. S. Bach’s Zion Hears the Watchmen Singing, Paul Manz’s E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come, the Cameroon carol He Came Down, and other selections.

Based on the traditional 'Nine Lessons & Carols' service, the service is a time of spiritual preparation. Through encountering sacred prophesies and promises and ancient and modern music, quiet reflection, and joyful expectation, the congregation and guests prepare for the coming of Christ at Christmas.

The Church is located at 587 Springfield Avenue. For more information, call 908-273-3846.
