SUMMIT, NJ - Marykate Davidson scored the game's only goal in the first half and the fifth-seeded Summit High School Varsity Field Hockey Team won their third game in a row by defeating fourth-seeded Cranford, 1-0, and advancing to the Union County Tournament semifinals.

Davidson's tally was assisted by Ciara Lawlor and Caroline Sanyour made nine stops in goal to get the shutout for the Maroon and White, which will now face number-two seed Oak Knoll on October 13.

The Hilltoppers, now 5-8-1 on the season, have a busy week ahead, facing Columbia October 8 and traveling to Glen Ridge October 10 (both games get underway at 4 p.,m.) before taking on the Royals.
