SUMMIT, NJ - Girls' Ice Hockey Team member Grace Hannigan and Boys' Junior Varsity Basketball Team member Connor Demm have been honored as Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending December 31.
Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.
Hannigan set a girls ice hockey program record with eight points in a single game, the freshman scoring four goals and four assists in the Maroon and White's commanding 11-4 victory over Princeton High School. The eight-point explosion breaking the previous record of six points, which was set by Teia Ross in 2015.
Senior Wilde won the Christopher Reeves Sportsmanship Award at the Princeton Day weekend tournament, her dedication and work ethic consistently leading the team by example.
Demm put the 'D' in the JV hoopsters' defense, and also scored eight points in each of two Hilltopper contests on the hardwood.
