SUMMIT, NJ - Just as most Hilltop City folks do some errands and tidying up on the weekends, the Summit High School Girls and Boys Lacrosse Teams used their Saturday at AL Johnson High School to take care of some unfinished business, sweep aside their opponents, and make a stop at the 'hardware store', as both squad's captured their respective Union County Championship.
The Girls re-claimed the title they had lost in 2017 -- and, as of now, have owned for ninety percent of the last decade -- with a 10-8 victory over Oak Knoll.
The Boys, having dropped the previous three Union County Finals to Westfield -- all by one goal and two in overtime -- got their hands on the big trophy for the first time since 2014 with an 8-5 win over the Blue Devils.
It was, as the saying goes, it was 'A Great Day to be a Hilltopper' in Clark, a feeling this article's 50 accompanying photographs attempted to capture and hope to convey.
