SUMMIT, NJ - Hilltopper running back and senior captain Joe Lusardi has been named the Salerno Duane Summit High School Football Player of the Game for Summit's 23-16 victory over Somerville.

In addition to scoring the game-winning touchdown with two minutes to play, Lusardi also found the end zone on a 68-yard catch and run play and via a four-yard rush. His three visits to paydirt were complimented by the big interception he contributed while on the defensive side of the ball.

The Salerno Duane Summit Football Player(s) of the Game Award is a collaboration between Salerno Duane Jeep Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Summit and TAPinto Summit which, after each Summit High School Varsity Football game, will honor a Hilltopper player or players -- as designated by the coaching staff -- for their performance(s).

Summit (3-1) now heads back on the road, taking on Governor Livingston October 12. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
