SUMMIT, NJ - Girls' Lacrosse Team player Julia Szynal and Golf Team member Kieran McKeown have been named Summit High School Athletes of the Week, presented by TAPinto Summit, for the week ending May 6.

Each week throughout the school athletic year, an athlete or athletes will be honored for distinguishing themselves in the arena of competition, in the classroom, and for demonstrating exemplary, Hilltopper-caliber sportsmanship and leadership qualities.

Szynal's big week included seven goals and two assists, including a Hat Trick and some ferocious play on the draw -- which resulted in precious ball control -- in the Union County Final conquest of Oak Knoll. The Hilltoppers' crown was the program's ninth in the past 10 years. The junior has 37 goals and seven assists on the season for the Maroon and White.

McKeown has had 5 rounds at +4 or better, earning the senior a qualification to the state sectional tournament as an individual. He has shown outstanding sportsmanship and leadership, essential for a young team.
