SUMMIT, NJ - Hilltopper Catherine Singow nearly made a clean-sweep of the podium's top perch as the Summit High School Varsity Gymnastics Team opened it dual-meet season with a 104.85 - 96 victory over Jonathan Dayton at The Connection.

The junior captain claimed top spot on bars (8.875), beam (9.275) and floor (9.3) and finished joint runner-up to classmate Isabel Claus (8.825) on vault. Singow also won the All-Around with a score of 36.25.

Despite being limited to two events due to a minor injury, senior captain Sofia Confalonieri was solid on both bars (8.45), where she grabbed second place, and beam (8.25), finishing in third.

Other top three finishers included junior Emma Claus -- second on vault (8.8) and third in the All-Around (33.625); junior Quinn Meyer -- third on vault (8.8); junior Charlotte Girouard -- third on bars (8.15); and sophomore Emma Burke -- second on floor (9.075).

Summit next travels to Hunterdon Central September 16 for a Varsity / JV meet beginning at 4 p.m. The meet marks the first-ever matchup of the two teams.
