Summit H.S. Girls Hoopsters Richson, Yorio, Maloney and Keegan Reap Post-Season Honors

SUMMIT, NJ - A resurgent season by the Summit High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team has earned a quartet of the squad's players post-season honors.

Senior captains Christina Richson (First Team), Catherine Maloney (Honorable Mention) and Grace Keegan (Honorable Mention), along with freshman Annabella Yorio (First Team) have all been recognized by the Union County Conference, Mountain Division.

Richson finished her Summit career with 1,160 points, which made her the sixth highest scorer in Hilltopper girls basketball history. She totaled 315 points during the 17-18 season, drained 52 three-pointers -- netting the school-record for career treys with 219 -- while contributing 84 rebounds, 65 steals, 48 assists, and 12 blocks. Her 71 % Free Throw percentage was second on the team.

Playing a school record-setting 100 games in Maroon and White, Richson had 275 rebounds, 151 assists -- fifth highest all-time -- 181 steals, good for third all-time, and 34 blocked shots

In both her first year in the program and on the Varsity, Yorio was the team's second-leading scorer with 145 points, its leading rebounder with 144 and shot blocker with 23, second in steals and assists with 32 and 38, respectively, and the third-leading Free Throw shooter at just under 70 percent.

Maloney scored 116 points and had 87 rebounds to go along with 13 assists, 12 steals and four blocks. In 64 career games, she notched 346 total points, while totaling 259 rebounds, 71 steals, 69 assists and 11 blocks.

Keegan had 102 total points during the season, while also contributing 45 rebounds, 29 assists, 19 steals and four blocks. For her 63-game Summit career, she scored 244 career points, and had 142 rebounds, 58 assists, 44 steals and 7 blocks.

Summit completed its season with a record of 13-11.
