SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit High School Boys Varsity Ice Hockey Team has earned the number-one seed in the Union County Ice Hockey Tournament and will open play January 16 at the semifinal stage of the competition versus fourth-seeded Cranford at the Warninanco Skating Center. Face-off is set for 5 p.m.
The tournament seeding is as follows:
1 - Summit
2 - Westfield
3 - Governor Livingston
4 - Cranford
5 - AL Johnson
6 - Scotch-Plains Fanwood
In the other semifinal January 16, Westfield will face Governor Livingston, with AL Johnson and Scotch Plains-Fanwood having previously been eliminated in the tourney's opening round.
The final will be played January 19 at Warinanco with puck drop set for 6 p.m. Summit is currently 10-4 on the season.
