CRANFORD, NJ - Like most teams, when the Summit High School Boys Varsity Basketball team gets significant point contributions from multiple sources they are tough to beat. Such was the case at Cranford when three 'Toppers scored in double digits and the Maroon and White built a meaty first-quarter lead, an advantage that carried them to a 60-44 victory over the Cougars.

Senior captains Eric Baier (17) and Will Hellings (13) along with classmate Charles Lord (14) combined for 73 percent of the Hiltopper output, with Lord dropping four rainbows from behind the arc. Baier and Hellings each had eight rebounds to pace the visitors on the glass.

Summit led 19-5 after eight minutes and never really looked back.

The boys from the 07901, now 5-2 on the season, now return to the Main Gym for what promises to be a spirited get together with Delbarton on January 11. The game tips-off at 1 p.m.
