SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The Summit High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team built a 23-point first-half lead and went on to defeat Jonathan Dayton, 52-35. The victory improves the Hilltoppers' season mark to 13-10.

Sophomore Olivia Lawlor had a game-high 14 points, with senior captain Sylvie Goudreau adding 13 and junior captain Annabella Yorio contributing 11 to pace the Maroon and White. Hayley Santos led Dayton with 9 points.

Summit led 22-8 after one and then outscored the Bulldogs 12-3 in the second stanza to lead 34-11 at the break. Dayton dramatically cranked up its offense in the second half -- scoring 17 in the third quarter alone -- but The 'Top was miles down the road by then.

The Hilltoppers will return home February 27 to take on Madison at the Main Gym before beginning NJSIAA Tournament play March 2. The matchup versus the Dodgers will tip-off at 7 p.m.
