SUMMIT, NJ - A dozen Summit High School student-athletes have qualified for the elite Track and Field 'Meet of Champions' by virtue of their the performances at the NJSIAA Group 3 Championship held May 31 and June 1 at Central Regional High School is Bayville.
The 'Meet of Champions' will take place June 8 at North Burlington County Regional High School is Columbus.
The Maroon and White qualifiers include:
Boys 1600 - Jacob Pantoya (junior) - Pantoya finished sixth overall at the Group 3 Championship - 4:20.45 (-:0.59 improvement)
Boys 4x800 Relay - The unite finished third overall at Group 3s - senior Max Yurkov, senior Will Lusty, senior Ahmad Samuels, and Jacob Pantoya - 8:03.91
Boys 4x100 Relay - The 4x1s took fifth place at the G3 and set a new school record - senior Max Jackson, junior Joe Lusardi, senior Sam Malnati, and junior Aaron Tobias - 48.02
Girls 4x800 Relay - With all four members delivering personal best performances, the unit finished fourth overall Group 3 - sophomore Katya Wardle, sophomore Caroline Moy, junior Sofia Monserrat, and freshman Lara Cota - 9:37.98
