SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Free Public Library’s sixth season of Shakespeare on the Green will feature 'The Shrewd Mechanicals' performing Verily, Madly Thine, a medley of The Bard of Avon’s plays, mixed with a few contemporary authors whose work has been inspired by Shakespeare. The event will take place July 11, beginning at 7 p.m.

The 60-minute program about falling in love, will celebrate and mock the victims of Cupid’s arrow as 'The Shrewd Mechanicals', a tight-knit group of young actors, present a modern twist on some the classics. Mixed with a little night music, the performance is designed to entertain the whole family.

The Summit Free Public Library, through support from the Manley Winser Foundation, has been bringing Shakespeare to the Village Green in Summit since 2013.

Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner and bring a blanket and-or some chairs. Construction on the Village Green has shifted the performance location on the 'Green to the area in front of the Mabie Playground (across Elm Street). In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church, located at 79 Maple Street.
