A little cold weather could not deter a denizen of the North Pole -- let alone scores of Santas -- as, for the fourth year in a row, a group of very, merry gentlemen caroled their way across Summit, raising several thousand dollars for local charities including the Area Baby Center, Bonds of Courage and Loaves and Fishes. Taking the holiday spirit a step farther, the jingling Kringles donated more than 50 coats to the needy.
Local Hilltop City eateries The Office Tavern Grill, Piattino: A Neighborhood Bistro, the Huntley Taverne, Broadway Diner, Marco Polo, Hat Tavern, Winberies, Roots, Summit House, Fiorino and the Elks Club, all welcomed the singing Santas into their establishments and offered them some good cheer while they raised the spirits of their customers with holiday classics. The Meat House catered food to keep the Santas' waistlines the appropriate circumference as well.
