The Summit Luminary Fund has set a new fundraising high-water mark, with more than $96,000 raised this past December. The Fund and Lois Schneider Realtor president Karen Schneider presented the proceeds to the 2019 beneficiaries which included: ABC Area Baby Center, Bridges' Summit School Supply Drive, Christ Child Society of Summit Layette Program, Family Promise of Union County, SAGE Eldercare Spend-A-Day, Summit Helping Its People (SHIP), Summit’s Senior Connections, Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, and Valerie Fund Children's Center at Overlook Medical Center.

Began 38 years ago on a handful of streets in the Hilltop City, the initiative has grown into an all-encompassing community effort -- with residents on 152 streets assisted by over 100 street captains -- that culminates in the City's streets lined and alight with a warm holiday glow on December 24. Lois Schneider Realtor became the underwriter of this magical event, partnering during its infancy while concurrently creating an environment for growth.

“We are proud to work with the Summit Luminary Fund and the non-profit beneficiaries that contribute so much to our towns," said Schneider. "At Lois Schneider Realtor we are committed to helping support their work. We’d like to thank Summit Luminary Fund President, Barbara Romano for her continued hard work and dedication, as well as all the area leaders and volunteers."
