Sara Szynal, Summit High School Class of 2016 alum, former Hilltopper Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team Member and TOC Champion, has been awarded the Elite 90 Award, emblematic of the student-athlete with the highest cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) competing at the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championships.
The Northwestern University junior has compiled a 3.99 GPA majoring in social policy, with a minor in legal studies.
Szynal and her fourth-seeded Wildcat teammates will take on top-seeded Maryland tonight (May 24), with the victor advancing to take on the winner of the other semifinal -- which pits second-sueded Boston College against third-seeded North Carolina -- in the Championship game on May 26.
Szynal ended her Hilltopper Lacrosse career as the school's all-time leading goal scorer, finding the back of the net 293 times while wearing the Maroon and White.
