UNION, NJ – Andrea Santiago and Erick D’Addario have been awarded the Jason Lopes Scholarship for the 2017-2018 school year.
Union High School Soccer and the Union Soccer League have awarded Santiago and D’Addario the scholarship for the 2017- 2018 school year for exemplifying the true spirit of dedication and commitment to soccer that Lopes is remembered for.
Santiago and D’Addario, both Union High seniors, participated in the Township soccer leagues and school soccer teams throughout their lives.
Santiago will be attending the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, majoring in Biology. She was born in Puerto Rico, but raised in New Jersey. She enjoys reading, hiking and the outdoors. Santiago was a member of St. Michaels CYO, the National Honor Society and was the Treasurer for the Spanish National Honor Society.
D’Addario will be attending Winthrop University, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, majoring in Business and Sports Marketing. He also was a member of the National Honor Society, volunteered at the South Mountain Rehabilitation Center, in Union and helped maintain the Township Little League fields. D’Addario loves spending summers in Wildwood and hopes to one day work with a professional sports venue.
