UNION, NJ – Chiropractor Dr. Donald Antonelli has been treating patients in the Union area for 25 years. Along with chiropractor Dr. Frank Halter, Antonelli Family Chiropractic and Physical Therapy Center has grown to include chiropractic, physical therapy and acupuncture services.
Antonelli grew up and went to school in Union. He and Dr. Halter, his cousin and business partner, believe strongly in giving back to the community. Antonelli Family Chiropractic has sponsored little league teams and supported Union High School activities including the band, theater and baseball programs. Antonelli has volunteered as a pitching coach and team doctor for the high school baseball team and has participated in career days at area schools.
Antonelli said he has participated in Halloween programs at Union schools to talk about nutrition and health. “The kids love seeing the spinal skeleton during Halloween,” he said. Antonelli has been a sponsor of Union Soccer, the Teener Baseball League and participates in the Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
“Chiropractors fix spinal alignment to take pressure off discs, muscles, nerves and joints to relieve low back, neck pain and a variety of other discomforts including headaches,” said Antonelli when describing general chiropractic services.
“I take pride in telling a person that I can help them,” Antonelli said. He said he and Dr. Halter will often refer a patient to an orthopedist, pain management provider, or neurologist or for an MRI. “I have long-standing relationships with other providers, so I will refer to them to get the best possible care for a patient. I like to give a patient choices and options.”
Antonelli, a married father of three daughters, went to Seton Hall University on an academic scholarship to play Division 1 baseball. “My love of athletics drives a lot of what I do,” he said.
Antonelli and Halter, a married father of a young daughter and son, sees a lot of patients with sports injuries, including athletes from the high school.
Both Antonelli and Halter attended New York University Chiropractic College. “We use a variety of techniques to help a patient,” said Antonelli, “including light touch chiropractic manipulation, activator treatments, flexion/distraction therapy and trigger point therapy.”
“We attribute our long-standing relationship with our patients to the ongoing successful treatment of numerous musculoskeletal conditions,” said Antonelli. “We believe that our honesty, integrity, and commitment to the community sets us apart.”
