UNION, NJ - Join Professor Daniel Fried of Kean University’s Chemistry and Biology Departments for an after school science enrichment course orienting students to the chemistry of life.
Using cutting edge teaching methods, interactive computer simulations, molecular models, and drawing exercises, students will learn how to build and recognize biomolecules and learn their connections to biology, health, and everyday life.
Some of the questions the course will answer are…
What makes a rose red? How does vision work? What makes a flavor? What is plastic? What are sugars and proteins? What is soap, and how does it clean?
No special science background required! Parents are also welcome to participate in the classes.
*This course is great for students who want to learn more in-depth science than may be taught in school, and for kids interested in the sciences or medical fields.
The class will be held at Kean University.
Weekly meeting days and times will be set to accommodate as many interested students as possible.
All are welcome to attend an informal sample class tentatively scheduled for the week of February 1st.
Please contact Dr. Daniel Fried at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to submit your availability and schedule preferences.
