UNION, NJ – Union resident Barbara Kukla is celebrating the release of her new book, Newark Women:  From Suffragettes to the Statehouse.

The Vauxhall Branch of the Union Public Library will be hosting a book talk/signing with Kukla on Monday, August 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Kukla spent the majority of her 43 years in journalism as an editor for the Star Ledger.  Her new book details the vital role Newark women played in securing women’s right to vote in the early 20th Century.
