HACKENSACK, NJ -- Kaitlyn Lowey and Goldera Surles, who have helped lead Union Catholic to one of its best seasons in recent years, each qualified for the NJSIAA Girls Bowling Tournament of Champions with great performances at Saturday's NJSIAA Sectional Championships at Bowler City in Hackensack.
Lowey rolled a series of 584 and Surles, who lives in Union racked up a 568 in her games as the two seniors punched their tickets to the T of C, which is scheduled for this Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Bowlero Lanes in North Brunswick. The top 18 bowlers in the sectional meet advanced to the T of C. The 18th and final qualifier rolled a 550.
It will be a very busy upcoming week of bowling for Surles and Lowey.
On Monday, Surles and Lowey will compete with the UC team at the State Team Tournament of Champions at Bowlero Lanes. UC qualified by winning its first ever sectional title (North Jersey, Sec. 2 Group 2).
On Tuesday, UC will clash with Roselle at Jersey Lanes in Linden with the Union County Conference title on the line.
