UNION, NJ – Union Police have identified Duwad Ward as the burglar of a home on Winfield Terrace in January.
Upon investigation of forensic evidence at the scene, Ward was charged with burglary and theft. He is currently being held in the Union County Jail on other burglary charges and unrelated charges.
Ward was recently the subject of an nj.com news story exposing problems with the new bail reform system.
Ward, 23, of Plainfield, has been in jail since his arrest on February 22. Ward has a dozen burglary charges pending and is the suspect in other burglaries, including other burglaries in Union dating back to November. Detectives continue to investigate these crimes.
