UNION, NJ – Young princesses and princes attended a royal reception on Sunday at Union High School in celebration of the Union High School Performing Art Company’s current performance of Cinderella.
The stage was transformed into a magical ballroom with tables set for tea, assorted tea sandwiches and baked goods. Forty-seven princesses and five princes attended the reception. Each received a souvenir tiara or crown.
“We were so thrilled to be able to open our doors to the young princes and princesses of our community,” said UHSPAC choreographer Jennifer Williams. “Seeing their faces light up as the entered the theater, and the bright smiles that shined across each of their faces as every new character came out truly warmed our hearts.”
Prince Topher, Cinderella, her step-mother and step-sisters, and other characters visited and spoke with each child and provided their autograph.
“We would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the event,” continued Williams. “We hope it was as magical for them as it was for us. A special thanks to Van Gogh’s Ear Café for their generous donation of the delicious ‘high tea’ foods and drinks our guests enjoyed.”
