UNION, NJ – The Vauxhall Community Association hosted its second Annual Summer Basketball Classic at Herbie Davis Park featuring old timer all-stars from Union High School against younger all-stars who are recent Union High graduates.

The purpose of the event is to build unity within the community in the Vauxhall area.   The event was co-sponsored by the Township of Union, the Vauxhall Community Association and ConnectOne Bank.  Kevin Woodridge of the Vauxhall Community Association said, “I want to bring more events to the community, not just Vauxhall but all of Union.”  Describing the Township of Union, Woodridge said, “we are all one.”

“The Basketball Classic is an incredible display of camaraderie, sportsmanship and community,” said Mayor Manuel Figueiredo. “The Township of Union is extremely proud to support this event and all of the pride and history that it represents not only for the Vauxhall community, but the entire Township at large.”  

The Midtown All-Stars won the game by one point over the Legends, 69 to 68.
