UNION, NJ – A call was sent out to township residents Monday night from Deputy Mayor Joseph Florio regarding the upcoming demolition and construction at the site of the old Vauxhall Library.
“Work is expected to begin here on Tuesday, May 16,” Florio said. It was announced in January that this will be the site of a new meeting hall with a dedicated space for the Vauxhall Historical Society.
“If you live in the area, or if you or your child are pedestrians frequenting that area, we advise you to stay safe and use caution when approaching, even though there will be a fence securing the area,” said Florio.
Florio said the township does not expect the work to severely impact traffic patterns in the area. Demolition is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
