UNION, NJ – A fire early Sunday morning in an attached garage at 1563 Walker Ave. forced residents from their home.

The blaze was quickly extinguished by Union firefighters. There were three residents at home at the time of the 3:30 a.m. fire, which did not result in any injuries. 

According to Fire Chief Mike Scanio, the Red Cross responded to assist the residents as the home is uninhabitable due to electrical issues, fire hazards and water damage in the basement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
