UNION, NJ – Union police responded to an early morning call at 2424 Iorio Street of simultaneous fire and burglar alarms.

According to Fire Chief Mike Scanio, police arrived on the scene at about 2:30 a.m. Friday to discover the building on fire.  Firefighters arrived and found fire coming from the windows in the front office area.  Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.  Iorio Street is in an industrial area off of Springfield Road.

The building was unoccupied at the time and there were no reported injuries.  The office sustained significant damage with smoke damage to surrounding offices and to the warehouse area behind the offices. 

The fire is under investigation, but did not appear suspicious said Chief Scanio.
