ELIZABETH, NJ – Ahmad Khan Rahimi pled not guilty to six criminal complaints before Judge Regina Caulfield in the Union County Courthouse, October 13. He was videotaped from his bedside in University Hospital, Newark, where he was recuperating from gunshot wounds sustained during his September 19 arrest.

Rahimi made his pleas through his Public Defender Peter Liguori as not guilty to one count of unlawful possession of handgun, one count of possession of a firearm to be used unlawfully against a police officer, and four counts of attempted murder of several police officers.

Liguori, who will continue to represent Rahimi, made his first order of business a request to correct the defendant's name from Rahami to Rahimi. He also asked to be provided with police reports to establish probable cause for each complaint.
