ELIZABETH, NJ – A 28 year-old Elizabeth resident was shot and killed April 11 and the fatal shooting is under investigation, Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced April 12.

Elizabeth Police responding to a report of shots fired on the 1800 block of Lafayette Street found Michael Eargle shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eargle was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

This matter remains under active joint investigation by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
