UNION, NJ - The Union Fire Department accepted a $2,000 donation from Spencer Savings Bank for use in acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE) and other items to help keep first responders and the community safe.

“We wanted to do something for the community and for emergency responders,” said Spencer Savings Bank Vice President Carmen Rivera.  “We decided to help them purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) because that’s what they really need to help keep everyone safe.”

“We really appreciate it,” said Union Fire Chief Mike Scanio.  “We always need PPE, especially not knowing what’s ahead of us.  It will be put to good use.”

“We are happy to support you in this way,” said Rivera.  “Thank you for all that you do.”
