UNION, NJ - The Union Fire Department responded to a neighbor’s call reporting smoke coming from 1132 Weber Str. early this afternoon.

Upon arrival, the fire department found smoke pouring from the front door and garage.  The firefighters accessed the back door and found fire rolling across the ceiling in a back room, which appears to be a dining room. Battalion Chief Mike Scanio described the home as a "Collyer’s Mansion," a code firefighters use to describe extreme hoarding conditions.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but it does not appear suspicious. No one was home at the time of the fire.
