UNION,NJ - Union High School hosted an all day orientation for incoming freshman Monday, August 31.   “Today is a day to get the students motivated and excited about being in high school and introduce them to all the extracurricular activities we offer," said Cory Lowery, Principal of Union High School.

"The goal of the orientation is a smooth transition for incoming nineth-graders," said Nicole Ahern, Supervisor of Counseling.  The first section of the orientation was a tour of the school lead by 10th-, 11th-, and 12th-grade Peer Ambassadors.   Another section provided information on graduation requirements and obtaining social or academic assistance.   The freshman then sat through a session on policies and procedures lead by the freshman vice principal.  Toward the end of the orientation, parents joined their children for additional information provided by school administrators.  The orientation concluded with a pep rally.
