SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Caroline Morgan scored on a free kick from 35 yards out in the first overtime to give the Union Catholic girls soccer team a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kent Place on Tuesday afternoon at Union Catholic.

It's the second straight win for the Vikings, who improved to 3-3 on the season.

Union Catholic jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead when Sophia Alves scored on a penalty kick and Christina Layden converted on a breakaway. Kent Place battled back to tie the game in the second half before Morgan clinched  the victory for UC with her clutch goal in overtime.

Ashia Ellison made eight saves in goal for Union Catholic to help secure the victory.
