SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - The Union Catholic girls soccer team erupted for 10 goals when the Vikings rolled to a shutout victory over Roselle Catholic in the first round of the Union County Tournament in front of a festive Halloween crowd on Saturday

Caroline Morgan and Christina Layden each scored three goals, Alaina Frederique had two, and Kate LaBarge and Madeline Gunsiorowski each scored a goal for the Vikings.

UC jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead on the way to its fifth straight victory as the Vikings improved to 6-1-2 on the season.

The Vikings will now take on Union in the second round of the tournament this Wednesday at Union as UC looks to avenge its only loss of the season. The Farmers defeated UC, 5-3, on Oct. 8.
