UNION, NJ – Some Hannah Caldwell Elementary School students recently participated in a presentation about pollution and how to care for the watershed.

Students in Mrs. Jayne Minitelli’s second grade class and Ms. Angela Saavedra’s third grade class learned how to take care of the waterways by actively participating with a hands-on Enviroscape, a 3-D watershed model and they participated in another educational activity titled, “The Incredible Journey”.  Both of these lessons engaged the students by teaching them how important it is to take care of the local waterways and environment.

The event was presented by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the AmeriCorps New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program.
