ROSELLE, NJ – The Bulldogs hockey team rebounded after losing two in a row with their first shut-out win of the season. They beat Lacey High School 7-0 on the road at the Winding River Ice Rink. The Bulldogs are now 2-3-1.
The game was close through the first two periods with the Bulldogs holding on to a 1-0 lead. In third period, the Bulldogs turned up the offensive heat and scored six goals.
Junior Daniel Dorokhin scored the first goal of the game with 12 minutes and six seconds left in the first period.
With 13:16 left in the third period, freshman Gary Mignone scored the second goal of the game with an assist by freshman Jeremy Greiss. Dorokhin struck again with 10:41 left in the third. That goal was followed quickly by Sophomore Victor Velazquez with an assist from sophomore Brenden Smith.
The remaining three goals were scored by sophomore Joe Triano on an assist from Mignone; Smith on an assist by Mignone; and Velazquez on an assist by Smith.
The Bulldogs goalie sophomore Nick Facchini turned away all 21 shots he he faced. The Bulldogs had 26 shots on goal.
The Bulldogs' next game is Tuesday 6:30p.m. January 0 at Warinanco Ice Rink against Morris Catholic High School.
