UNION, NJ – Union’s Little League field on Lehigh Avenue will be getting a new clubhouse this spring thanks to Diversified Realty Advisors, the Township recently announced.
Diversified has been working with the Township of Union to bring a luxury apartment complex to Claremont Terrace, in the vicinity of the Union Train Station.
“Building solid communities involves more than brick and mortar,” said Nick Minoia, Founding Partner of Diversified Realty Advisors. “It not only involves trust and the fostering of relationships, but moreover it involves investment in the very people who will make it thrive and grow. We are proud that one of these investments can come in the form of a new clubhouse for the stadium on Lehigh Avenue”
“We are excited about the new clubhouse,” said Union Little League President Jesus Gonzalez. “The new building will help service kids of the community for generations to come.”
According to Bill Morrison, responsible for Facilities and Fields of the Union Little League, the clubhouse has been in need of a facelift for quite some time. “The first half of the clubhouse was built back in the 50s,” Morrison said, “and I don’t think the second half even has a foundation.”
The utilities are set to be turned off at the existing structure by November 15 and demolition is set to begin shortly thereafter with estimated completion before the start of the Spring 2017 season. Amenities will include an updated concession stand, ADA Accessible restrooms, and a meeting room for members of the league.
“When the Township of Union decides to work with businesses and developers, we are very selective,” said Mayor Manuel Figueiredo. “They need to be the right fit for our Township and have a reputation for giving back and being solid community partners. Diversified Realty Associates certainly fits that bill.”
