UNION, NJ –Investors Bank was named Business of the Month for January by the Township Committee and recognized at the last Township Committee meeting.
“The bank was founded in 1926 and is the largest bank headquartered in New Jersey with more than $22 billion in assets and a network of over 150 retail branches throughout New Jersey, New York City and Long Island,” said Township Committeeman Manuel Figueiredo.
“Investors delivers a broad range of financial services and products tailored to the needs of its retail and business customers,” continued Figueiredo. “In March of 1943 the bank, then serving under the name Investor’s Savings and Loan Association of Millburn, acquired the Connecticut Farms Building and Loan Association building located in Union. The bank opened its first branch in Union in Union in 1945. They now have three branches here; two along Stuyvesant Avenue and one on Route 22.”
“Investors is a model of what true community bank should be: a good corporate citizen with a tradition of giving back at the heart of everything it does. Investor’s Bank, Union team, supports the Union Chamber of Commerce, the Union Rotary, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Union, Union County Seniors Association, in addition they were last years’ sponsor of Union’s Got Talent and through their foundation they have awarded a grant to Union County College that will fund scholarships for local students.”
Accepting the award at the Township Meeting on behalf of Investors Bank was Manager Regina Nichols and Eugene Mitchell.
“We really enjoy working in this town,” said bank manager Regina Nichols. “Not only Eugene and myself, but our staff likes to volunteer their time. I grew up in Union. Union holds a special place in my heart.”
