UNION, NJ – The Jefferson School Class of 2021 came together Friday night for an ice cream social, marking the first full week of virtual learning.

The fifth grade students celebrated on September 18 with fun and ice cream, thanks to the Kona Ice truck.  The event was a great opportunity to have the students get together in person to meet their classmates and teachers, said PTA President Nicole Ahern.

“While the structure of some of our events might look different this year, with assigning time slots and mandating masks, the PTA at Jefferson School hopes to plan for future opportunities to bring the school community together in a safe way,” said Ahern.

“It was fun to meet my classmates outside instead of just seeing them on a screen,” said one happy fifth grader.
