UNION, NJ - Jefferson School held their annual Leadership Day on Thursday, showcasing students’ leadership skills in music, social studies, technology, computers and media, among other topics.
The theme of Leadership Day was “Super Heroes”. Visitors were escorted to the cafeteria by student greeters, like Leah, 10, whose superpower is singing. Breakfast choices included “proactive eggs”, “begin with the end in mind muffins”, “seek first to understand bagels”, and “first things first fruit”. Breakfast was accompanied by music from the Jefferson School band.
“Leadership Day is where we show you our Leadership skills that benefit our futures so we can make a difference in this world,” said Leadership Day co-host Bryan. “We are so happy you came today so we can show you how many wonderful leaders we have here in Jefferson Elementary School.”
“This entire year, the students of Jefferson School have really worked super hard, strong, bold and brave to be independent leaders,” said co-host Ali.
Visitors then entered the auditorium where students displayed their leadership projects, from math and social studies presentations, to science exhibits and music demonstrations. Students described their projects and outlined the steps involved in putting it together.
